Accessibility

We believe everyone should be able to get around their city in a fun and safe way. That’s why our LINK Access program offers adaptive vehicles for people with disabilities.

LINK Access

LINK Access is our adaptive vehicle program that provides alternative vehicles that accommodate some disabilities.

Rio Mobility’s Firefly

The Firefly is designed to work with a standard manual wheelchair, turning it into a three-wheeled scooter. It attaches and detaches in seconds.

Please note: The Firefly requires a one-time installation of small docking hardware. This one-time installation takes about 35 minutes and can be performed at our operations center. This hardware is easily removable and will not impact standard use of your manual wheelchair.

Electric Tricycle

Pedal-assist electric tricycles are equipped with front and rear baskets that can be used to carry baggage.

How it works

Adaptive vehicles are available on a first come, first served basis. We are able to offer access to these vehicles during daylight hours only, from approximately 9am to 6pm. Overnight rentals are not available at this time.

Rentals are available in a “round trip” model, meaning we will deliver and pick up the adaptive vehicle from the same location within local city boundaries or local operating area. We’ll provide a helmet for your use, if desired.

We offer this program free of charge to participants.

Cities with LINK Access

The LINK Access program offers free adaptive vehicle rentals in select cities. This program is currently available in:

  • Baltimore, MD

  • Cleveland, OH

  • Oakland, CA

  • San Diego, CA (coming soon)
